I told her about my weak spots, particularly in math, and she helped me through step-by-step, starting with the basic blocks and then building up to more difficult word problems. Cheryl is actually tutoring my niece for the SATs coming up in May. Being an educator and tutor myself for more than 35 years now, I agreed to do the search for her tutor and foot the bill once we found one. I was thorough and careful in the search because my niece has made it clear that she thinks a tutor is unnecessary and a waste of time and money; not an uncommon attitude among many high school students, but her PSAT scores suggest otherwise. So I knew we needed someone calm, determined and experienced and CHERYL S. totally fits the bill. In fact, my niece is a varsity athlete and her schedule is often unpredictable as games run over time or are cancelled and then rescheduled for another day and time and CHERYL S. has been very flexible in accommodating. In fact, the only reason I have rated the lessons as Good rather than Excellent is my niece's lack of prep and commitment not CHERYL'S.

Cheryl was awesome with my daughter. I only gave her 4 weeks to work with her twice a week before the SAT. She worked the full hour every time and was able to pinpoint my daughters weak spots as well as her strengths. Given the short time frame she knew to put emphasis on test taking strategies as well as working on problems. I don't have my daughters results yet, but I do know that she walked in to the test less intimidated and feeling more confident because of Cheryl.
